Feedback from Festival Attendees

We are very pleased to have received some great feedback from several people who attended this years festival.We really hope that everyone had an enjoyable time and will be back again next year!

We’ve just had the most wonderful weekend at Spurn for the Migfest. This was our first time and already we are talking about our trip next year. The volunteers and everyone who gave up their time to be involved in the weekend, made it very special indeed. We would particularly like to thank the Spurn Ladies for their tireless efforts in producing all that food, for the masses. The bacon and egg butty I had after a 2 hour early morning walk, was legendary! Many thanks to everyone and much love from “The Sussex Ladies” xxx

MigFest was my first ‘serious’ weekend away birding and what a weekend it was. Fantastically organised by a clearly dedicated group. A great range of lectures and organised walks and birdwatching sessions. Free lifts to the various meeting points and several experts on every walk/session to help identify the vast array of birds out there. Everyone was catered for, from the seasoned birder to the relative newbie like myself. Praise must go as well to the Spurn Ladies for the amazing catering - good proper birdwatching food. All in all a fantastic weekend which I would highly recommend to anyone with an interest in nature and birdwatching, certainly I hope to return next year. Ian - Boston, Lincolnshire

Thank you all for hosting another amazing event. My son James and I had a great time, as I am sure everyone else did. I know it takes a huge amount of effort and planning to make an event like that run so smoothly, even when there are hiccups like barred warblers and punctures! The young birders birdrace was a great idea that James loved. You have a great army of volunteers who graciously shared their time and knowledge. A special thank you to the Spurn ladies who kept us well catered and once again kept an eye out for James. James fell asleep very quickly but very happy tonight. Once again, thank you all very much. On behalf of my daughter and myself, I’d like to thank yourself, the committee, Spurn Ladies, Volunteers, Speakers, Exhibitors, the BTO, drivers and Westmere Farm for another excellent MigFest. The atmosphere was terrific, everyone so friendly and helpful and even some good weather and good birds! A big pat on the back to everyone and really looking forward to next years! Congratulations and thanks to all involved with Migfest – I thoroughly enjoyed my first one as a ‘punter’ and the whole event was as friendly and welcoming as ever. Many thanks too for your own generous support for Dove Step 3.1, and for incorporating our ‘duathlon’ into Migfest – that made it feel all the more worthwhile and really helped motivate us, as well as to raise the profile. On the ‘business’ side, I’ve replied to Paul Collins re catering for the Young Leaders course; I paid the Spurn Ladies £225 in cash (at Nick W’s request) but needed a receipt for our Accounts team, which Paul then organised. That explains why SBOT hasn’t seen the money! Hope you get change to enjoy a well-earned rest this week :-) cheers Nick

Please pass on a big thank you for the organisation of this event. There was a very good atmosphere throughout the event and all the experienced birders were so helpful.
